Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Field Services Specialist–Commissioning to manage resources and perform services at customer sites, including maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing Bently Nevada hardware and software as part of the Cordant Solutions package.

Responsibilities include testing, installation, repairs, and providing technical instruction to customers. The role requires travel 65–80%, strong troubleshooting, and a background in instrumentation or engineering.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of instrumentation and/or process control experience in an industrial environment, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics or mechanical systems with hardware, PLCs, Modbus, OPC, networking, and serial protocols.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and validation of equipment, facilities, or plants to ensure compliance with design objectives and specifications.
• Install and configure Bently Nevada hardware and software for machine protection and monitoring.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot problematic equipment.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customers on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
• Prepare technical reports, job status updates, material orders, quotations, and time/expense sheets.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through reports and verbal communication.
• Maintain calibration of specialized tools and adhere to standardized project processes and guidelines.
