Job summary

HTU in Boston, MA seeks a qualified engineer/technician to deliver and execute professional HVACR services across multiple sites. You will manage field installations, perform performance testing, and document results while collaborating with teams and attending project meetings.

The role requires a degree in HVACR/engineering or related field, internship experience, familiarity with pumps, boilers, BAS, and bid processes, plus strong communication and adaptability.

Qualifications

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering and executing professional services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated systems equipment.
• Completing office assignments, managing time and expenses, and validating in-field installations.
• Preparing field observation reports, conducting functional performance testing, attending meetings, and managing documentation.
• Participating in on-site and factory witness testing.
• Meeting target billable hours and managing tasks within budgeted time.
• Engaging in company-wide safety and training programs.
• Traveling to various job sites within the assigned region.

About You

The company is looking for candidates with:

• A Bachelor’s degree in HVACR, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology; or related trade school, construction, maintenance, or engineering controls experience.
• Previous staff or intern experience related to maintenance, construction, or engineering controls.
• Hands-on knowledge of pumps, fans, motors, air ventilation, chillers, boilers, steam distribution, heat absorption, building automation systems, optimization techniques, electrical distribution, and fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and the bid process.
• Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability to varying indoor and outdoor working conditions.
• Physical fitness, ability to lift at least 30 pounds, and capability to climb ladders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications include trade association involvement, EIT or similar certification, OSHA 10 or other safety certifications, and public speaking and presentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000.
