Engineering Manager – Data Center Projects

About the job:

A Commissioning Engineering Manager reports to an Engineering Director and oversees the commissioning process for new data center construction projects. The Engineering Manager creates schedules for the commissioning process, identifies, and resolves any problems or delays.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical commissioning expertise and ideally have previous experience within data center projects. They should have a strong understanding of building system interconnectivity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide updates to clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage team members, ensure financial performance, promote services, and expand business development through positive references.
2. Assign team members for success, provide constructive feedback, ensure staff utilization, lead weekly scheduling, and approve time and expenses.
3. Project administrative duties include projecting revenue and labor needs, achieving billable hours and sales targets, presenting at events, and participating in safety and training programs.
4. Lead design phase projects, support change order development, and initiate new client/market/sector relationships to expand business.
5. Travel to various job sites within the region as required.

Requirements:

1. Degree in HVACR, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related trade/technology experience.
2. Extensive management experience in maintenance, construction, or engineering controls, or 7+ years in the Cx industry.
3. Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, bid processes, and industry documents.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Cx software.
5. Leadership skills, responsibility acceptance, and team involvement.
6. Effective communication and presentation skills, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
7. Problem-solving skills, adaptability, physical fitness, and ability to climb ladders.

Qualifications:

1. Certifications such as P.E., CCP, CxA, CEM, or relevant experience.
2. Trade association involvement.
3. OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
