Job summary

C-Serv is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Red Oak, TX to lead commissioning on mission-critical data center construction projects. You will own site-specific commissioning from L1 to L5, develop plans, scripts, and procedures, and ensure tight integration with project schedules and vendor submittals.

This role demands strong MEP knowledge, DCMA scheduling, and the ability to supervise subcontractors on active sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading commissioning in mission-critical facilities.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent.
• Experience developing and running commissioning plans, scripts and procedures.
• Knowledge of NETA standards, BMS/EPMS, access control and CCTV.
• Scheduling with MS Project or Primavera P6 (DCMA 14 or similar).
• Clear communication with trade partners, vendors and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead site commissioning from L1 to L5 for new and expansion projects.
• Develop commissioning plans, scripts, and procedures across disciplines.
• Create schedules and report monthly critical path progress.
• Prepare commissioning RFPs from RFP to award.
• Conduct weekly punch-list reviews and implement prevention plans.
• Review design documents, specs, submittals and start-up procedures.
• Oversee electrical, mechanical, fire alarm, fire protection, and controls subs.
• Provide closeout docs and handover to operations.

Before a data center goes live, someone has to prove it works. Every system, every sequence, every test. That someone is you.

Our client is a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud and interconnection services. They are hiring a Commissioning Engineer in Red Oak, TX to lead commissioning on mission-critical construction projects, reporting to the Manager, Commissioning.

What you will own

• Site-specific L1 to L5 commissioning for new and expansion projects
• Commissioning plans, scripts and procedures across multiple disciplines
• Start-up and commissioning schedules, integrated into the project schedule with monthly critical path reporting
• Commissioning RFPs, from creation through to award
• Weekly punch-list reviews and a punch-list prevention plan
• Review of design documents, specifications, vendor submittals and start-up procedures
• Oversight of electrical, mechanical, fire alarm, fire protection and controls subcontractors
• Closeout documentation, and a smooth handover to facility operations

What success looks like

Systems perform to design. Punch-list items close before they pile up. Closeout documentation is complete, and operations take over a facility they can trust.

What we need from you

• 5+ years leading commissioning in mission-critical facilities
• A degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience
• Strong MEP knowledge, and the ability to read owner project requirements, drawings, schematics and sequences of operation
• Experience developing and running commissioning plans, scripts and procedures
• Knowledge of NETA standards, BMS and EPMS, access control and CCTV
• Scheduling in MS Project or Primavera P6, with DCMA 14 or similar
• Clear communication with trade partners, vendors and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort on active construction sites, including ladders, stairs and personnel hoists

What you get
