TYG is partnering with a leading national General Contractor to place a Commissioning Project Manager for Mission Critical data centers, on-site across the US in Texas, Indiana, Ohio and Oklahoma. The role oversees L2-L5 commissioning activities, OFCI equipment, and integration with the overall project schedule.

The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 4+ years in data center MEP PM roles, and preferred certifications such as CxA, CEM, PE or PMP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is required.
  • At least 4 years of construction project management experience with a strong focus on MEP systems in a data center environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CxA, CEM, PE, or PMP are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and provide feedback on MEP submittals, RFIs, and MOPs to ensure alignment with commissioning and operational goals.
  • Lead planning and scheduling of L2 (Site Acceptance/Pre-energization) and L3 (Functional Performance Testing) commissioning activities with vendors and trade partners.
  • Support testing scripts and procedures for L4 (Integrated Systems Testing) and L5 (Post-Occupancy/Seasonal Testing).
  • Manage OFCI equipment from submittal review to factory witness testing, delivery, installation, and startup with detailed tracking.
  • Integrate commissioning activities into the project schedule and track issue closure, deficiency logs, and closeout docs.
  • Lead commissioning kickoff meetings and mentor field teams on sequencing, durations, and expectations.
  • Communicate commissioning risks, schedule impacts, and progress to project team, owners, and third parties.
  • Implement commissioning KPIs and capture lessons learned to prevent repeat deficiencies.

We’re partnering with a leading national General Contractor to find experienced Commissioning Project Managers to join their Mission Critical teams on-site across the US in Texas, Indiana, Ohio and Oklahoma.

About the Role

Commissioning Manager - Data Centers

Responsibilities
  • Review and provide feedback on MEP submittals, RFIs, and MOPs (Methods of Procedure) to ensure alignment with commissioning and operational goals.
  • Lead the planning and scheduling of L2 (Site Acceptance/Pre-energization) and L3 (Functional Performance Testing) commissioning activities in coordination with equipment vendors and trade partners.
  • Support the client’s commissioning agent in executing L4 (Integrated Systems Testing) and L5 (Post-Occupancy/Seasonal Testing) scripts and procedures.
  • Manage Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment from submittal review and procurement through factory witness testing, delivery, installation, and startup, maintaining detailed tracking logs and escalating vendor issues to the client.
  • Integrate commissioning activities into the overall project schedule and track issue closure, deficiency logs, test reports, Cx checklists, and closeout documentation through handover.
  • Lead commissioning kickoff meetings, and mentor and train commissioning project engineers, superintendents, and field teams on sequencing, durations, and expectations.
  • Communicate commissioning risks, schedule impacts, and progress clearly to the project team, owners, and third parties.
  • Implement commissioning KPIs and capture lessons learned across projects to prevent repeat deficiencies.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the full (L0-L5) commissioning lifecycle, with experience planning and executing L2/L3 activities and familiarity with L4/L5 integrated systems testing.
  • Proven experience managing OFCI equipment procurement, delivery, and installation.
  • Strong understanding of complex MEP systems within mission-critical data center environments, ideally including liquid cooling and high-density (hyperscale/colocation) builds.
  • Working knowledge of Procore and P6.
