Job summary

HoSt Bio-Energy Systems is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Albany, NY who will lead installation projects, perform FATs/SATs, and ensure safe, successful commissioning of bio-energy systems. The role requires travel across the US and Canada and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will install, configure, test, and maintain equipment, answer customer questions, and provide training. A strong technical background and 3+ years in related field are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a field/commissioning engineer or similar role (process/ mechanical).
• Experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Hands-on, customer-oriented attitude and independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Commission bio-energy installations (mechanical/electrical) and travel to job sites to lead planning, performance, and testing of installations.
• Perform FATs with I/O checks and mechanical/performance testing; lead SATs and performance/availability tests.
• Resolve malfunctions on installations with lasting solutions and provide complete failure services.
• Check both hardware and software controls.
• Organize and perform service and preventative maintenance of bio-energy installations.
• Supervise contractors during plant build-up and support 24/7 site/emergency teams.
