Job summary

Daksta | Connecting Mission Critical Talent is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join a growing consultancy delivering mission critical, hyperscale data centers and other critical infrastructure across North America. The role is based on-site in Texas, focusing on planning, executing, and delivering commissioning activities across a diverse range of projects.

You will collaborate with project teams, contractors, vendors, manufacturers, and clients to ensure commissioning is performed safely,

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commissioning or related technical discipline.
  • Experience on mission critical, data centers, commercial or infrastructure projects is desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding of building systems or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting in the field.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently on-site and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute commissioning activities across a range of project types and systems.
  • Carry out functional performance testing and integrated systems testing.
  • Test, commission, troubleshoot, and verify building systems and equipment.
  • Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, manufacturers, project teams, and clients.
  • Witness and document testing of systems and equipment.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning issues in the field.
  • Produce detailed commissioning reports and maintain project records.
  • Support the development and review of commissioning plans, procedures, and test documentation.
  • Track deficiencies and drive resolution with stakeholders.
  • Ensure activities are completed safely and to project standards.

Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer looking to join a growing engineering and commissioning consultancy with an exciting portfolio of projects?

We're working with a market-leading engineering and commissioning consultancy that is continuing to expand its presence across North America. The business delivers projects across a diverse range of sectors, including mission critical, hyperscale data centers, K-12 education, commercial, industrial, and other critical infrastructure projects.

Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint a Commissioning Engineer to support the successful delivery of projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on commissioning professional who enjoys working on‑site, solving complex technical challenges, and working across a variety of project types and systems.

The Role:

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and delivering commissioning activities across a diverse portfolio of projects.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors, vendors, manufacturers, and clients to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

The role will be based in Texas, providing the opportunity to work on major mission critical, data center, commercial, education, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute commissioning activities across a range of project types and systems.

  • Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, manufacturers, project teams, and clients.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning issues in the field.
  • Produce detailed commissioning reports and maintain accurate project records.
  • Support the development and review of commissioning plans, procedures, and test documentation.
  • Track deficiencies and work with project stakeholders through to resolution.
  • Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, standards, and schedules.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the commissioning process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commissioning, testing, engineering, construction, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience within mission critical, data centers, commercial, K-12, critical infrastructure, industrial, or similar projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding of building systems, engineering systems, or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues in the field.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently on‑site while coordinating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strong safety mindset and commitment to delivering work to a high professional standard.
