Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Commissioning Agent for its Mission Critical Market Space, spanning Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, and Arizona. You will lead Level 1-5 commissioning delivery and oversee field testing to ensure reliable, energy-efficient data center systems.

You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, apply safety practices, and pursue OSHA certification while traveling as needed. AEI offers a collaborative culture, growth opportunities, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commissioning experience for data center or mission critical facilities.
  • Technical or Associate Degree from an accredited institution; or commensurate design/construct experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or controls.
  • Understanding of building systems; power distribution, cooling, and controls knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to interpret guidelines, standards and best practices for data center construction.
  • Proficiency with business software and cloud-based commissioning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve commissioning challenges and execute Level 1-5 delivery per OPR, BOD, plans and specs.
  • Oversee quality observation and field testing to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Collaborate with Owners, Contractors and Engineers to drive solutions.
  • Travel as required; no long-term deployments to site.

We are hiring for a Commissioning Agent in our Mission Critical Market Space in the following states: Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, and Arizona.

As a Commissioning Agent in our Mission Critical Market Space, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all. You will help us empower our data center clients to trust in the reliability of their mission critical systems to preserve data, protect assets, and save lives. You'll also lead efforts to achieve energy-efficient building solutions and help operators improve their ability to safely and effectively manage the data center. You will work in a multi-disciplined and cross-trained team of commissioning professionals in a team-oriented atmosphere. Why We Need You

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing the Level 1-5 commissioning process delivery set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specifications. You will oversee and execute the quality observation and testing in the field.

Expertise Of Our Most Successful Commissioning Agent
  • Minimum 2 years of commissioning experience for data center or mission critical facilities.
  • Technical or Associate Degree from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
  • General understanding of building systems across all design disciplines. A more detailed understanding of power distribution, cooling systems, and controls desired.
  • Ability to learn to interpret guidelines, standards, and best practices related to data center construction.
  • Ability to become proficient with software programs for business as well as could-based commissioning and construction:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel
    • CxAlloy
    • Autodesk BIM360, ACCBuild, and similar.
  • Ability to travel as required by the project. We do not promote long-term deployments to site.
  • Willingness to become OSHA certified.
  • Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
