Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) seeks a Commissioning Agent in our Jacksonville office, reporting to Gainesville. You will help clients achieve energy-efficient building solutions and contribute to greener, smarter environments through robust commissioning processes.

You will resolve commissioning challenges, develop delivery plans, and work with project teams to ensure high-quality outcomes across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering, or commensurate design/construction experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience with engineering calculation programs and CAD/BIM software for accessing design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans from Owner’s Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and construction documents.
• Resolve commissioning challenges and complete assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with clients, project partners, and team members to ensure success.

As a Commissioning Agent in our Jacksonville office reporting to our Gainesville office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy‑efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Here’s Why We Need You

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise Of Our Most Successful Commissioning Agent

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer‑aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose of accessing and interpreting design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
