Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Nashville seeks a Commissioning Agent to resolve commissioning challenges and develop delivery plans from OPR, BOD, and construction documents, as well as information gathered from users and project partners.

You will work with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines, interpret codes, and use CAD/BIM tools to ensure energy-efficient building solutions. AEI provides mentorship and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines (HVAC, fire protection, electrical, plumbing).
• Knowledge of codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience with engineering calculation programs and CAD/BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans from Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD).
• Resolve commissioning challenges and complete assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with project partners, users, and field teams to gather information and ensure compliant design delivery.

Here’s Why We Need You

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise Of Our Most Successful Commissioning Agent

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience.


• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.


• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.


• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements.


• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
