Job summary

State of Nevada seeks a Park Ranger (Commissioned) to assist the Park Supervisor at Walker River State Recreation Area. The role includes managing multiple park units, housing residency, and leading a dynamic team of seasonal staff.

You will perform law enforcement duties, issue citations, respond to emergencies, and help prepare interpretive programs and park reports. The position requires flexibility with hours and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• This role requires coordinating park operations and supervising seasonal staff.
• Experience or training in law enforcement and park safety is preferred.
• Ability to develop interpretive programs and manage park resources.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily park operations and maintenance projects; supervise seasonal staff; staff visitor centers and tours.
• Record visitor use and fees; prepare reports and respond to inquiries; operate park weather station and safety devices.
• Enforce park rules and laws; investigate incidents; conduct safety and rescue operations as needed.
• Help implement resource management plans; identify problems and initiate preservation projects.
• Plan and conduct interpretive programs and media to inform visitors about park features.
