Joseph’s Classic Market in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a Pastry Chef to lead bakery production, uphold high-quality standards, and create exceptional pastries and desserts for our customers.

The role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities include overseeing daily production, ensuring FIFO compliance, decorating pastries, and guiding staffing, training, and budgeting to align with brand goals.

Qualifications

• Culinary Arts Degree or Baking School certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commissary, banquet, or related field
• Advanced knowledge of baking principles and techniques
• Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred
• Ability to work well with others
• A passion for serving people

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing daily production activities in the commissary, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards
• Conduct daily inspections of coolers and fridges for FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance, proper labeling, and freshness
• Monitor and support production staff in following recipes accurately to maintain consistent product quality
• Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure a visually appealing and tasteful presentation
• Guide staff in maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Ensure that all bakery equipment is in good working condition and report any issues promptly
• Collaborate with the Bakery Manager on hiring, training, and termination processes as needed
• Maintain payroll and ordering costs to stay within budget parameters
• Innovate and create new, unique recipes that align with Joseph's Classic Market's brand and customer preferences

Position: Commissary - Pastry Chef

Our Bakery Department is a favorite destination for Joseph’s customers, offering irresistible treats that keep them coming back for more! As a Pastry Chef, you will lead the charge in overseeing bakery production, upholding our high-quality standards, and creating an exceptional customer experience with beautifully crafted pastries and desserts. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

A Pastry Chef performs their tasks primarily in the kitchen and is exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. Work also includes frequent interaction with fellow employees.
