Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Commissary Operations Supervisor to oversee commissary activities and ensure accuracy within agency guidelines. You will supervise budgeting, ordering and receiving, and maintain inventory records while guiding inmate workers toward rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities include training personnel, conducting inventories, and ensuring OSHA safety standards are met. Travel may be required; four weeks of SCDC Basic Training is mandatory after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, bachelor’s may substitute for experience.
• Experience in inventory, budgeting and staff supervision encouraged.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to train and develop inmate or staff workers.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissary operations efficiently and accurately within agency guidelines.
• Supervise daily reporting, budgeting, ordering and receiving.
• Conduct and document inventory; maintain accurate records.
• Supervise employee/inmate workers: screen, select, train and evaluate.
• Provide rehabilitation and self-improvement opportunities for inmates.
