Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a supervisor to direct commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional environment, under the commissary manager. You will supervise laundry operations, train inmate workers, maintain equipment, and oversee supply distribution and sanitation of barber equipment.

Must complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. A high school diploma and related work experience are required; you will assist in records inventories and act as manager in

Responsibilities

• Direct the commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional environment.
• Supervise the laundry operations.
• Train and oversee all inmate workers.
• Ensure proper procedures are utilized.
• Maintain equipment.
• Assist the commissary manager with supply distribution.
• Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of barber equipment.
• Order and stock necessary equipment and supplies.
• Develop and implement a system to reduce and/or eliminate theft of laundry items.
• Assist in accountability of records inventories, weekly recaps, postings and SCEIS entries.
• Respond to request to staff.
• Perform duties of manager in their absence.
• Schedule subject to change.
