Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Commercial Estimator for our Charlotte, NC on-site team. You will review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare estimates for bids with project managers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience in CSI Divisions 3, 4, and 7.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Experience preparing competitive bids and working with budgets.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates and bid proposals.
• Identify cost, schedule, and project risks, and recommend value-engineering options.
• Work with project managers, engineers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify requirements.
• Support contract negotiations and pricing for change orders.
• Maintain estimating tools and cost data; compare estimated costs with project results.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
• Build relationships with industry contacts for future project opportunities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of construction estimating experience.
• Estimating experience in CSI Divisions 3, 4, and 7.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Experience preparing competitive bids and working with project budgets.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with close attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
