This role emphasizes quality workmanship, accurate record-keeping, and staying up to date with vehicle technologies to minimize downtime and maximise fleet availability for our logistics operations.

Qualificações

• Trade qualification as a diesel mechanic or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with heavy commercial vehicles.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on their fleet in Welkom . This role is vital for ensuring the operational readiness and safety of their trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine servicing, and conduct major repairs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Working in our well-equipped workshop, you will contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet efficiency, playing a key role in our logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial vehicles , including trucks and trailers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques for heavy-duty vehicles.

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or similar relevant certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working on heavy commercial vehicles .
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a workshop environment.
• Valid driver's license; Code 14 license is advantageous.
