Job summary

Bennett Motor Express Management Inc in McDonough, GA is seeking a highly motivated commercial vehicle inspector/mechanic with minimal supervision to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and on-site diagnostics. You will diagnose electrical trailer lighting, air systems, and other mechanical components, coordinate with management and vendors, bring your own hand tools, and lift 100 lbs.

Class A license is a plus; welding certification is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

3–5 years current relevant mechanical experience on commercial vehicles and trailers.
Valid driver’s license; Class A preferred.
Must be computer literate (email, Word, Excel) and able to learn other systems.
Own hand tools and pneumatic tools up to ½″ drive.
Able to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Forklift certification preferred; welding certification desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform PM services and Annual DOT inspections per company procedures and FHWA regulations.
Diagnose and repair electrical trailer lighting systems and fix as needed.
Diagnose and repair air systems and related components.
Perform additional repairs to trailing equipment and material handling equipment as directed.
Coordinate with on-site and off-site management and vendors to ensure economical, safe repairs.
