What We Do

First American is reinventing the commercial title industry from within. We're looking for a unique, ambitious individual who wants to join an early-stage, high-growth operation within a larger, Fortune 500 organization.

You will initially be involved in developing a new, end-to-end title operations process and identifying product and technical opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Subsequently, you will lead testing and iteration of these processes while closing commercial, national title transactions.

Responsibilities of a Commercial Underwriting Counsel:

1. Drive the development of a new, end-to-end operational process for title transactions.
2. Work remotely using technology and virtual communication.
3. Manage all technical aspects of a commercial title transaction—from underwriting to post-close—with operational support.
4. Utilize data to inform decision making and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of underwriting regional or national commercial real estate transactions for title insurance.
• 5-10 years of title underwriting experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven success in managing and serving customers.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and bar admission in at least one US state.

This is a fully remote role

Pay range: $95,350.00 - $127,125.00

This range is an estimate based on current market conditions and may vary depending on experience, skills, and location.
