What We Do

First American is reinventing the commercial title industry from within. We're looking for a unique, ambitious individual who wants to join an early-stage, high-growth operation within a larger, Fortune 500 organization.

You will initially help develop a new, end-to-end title operations process and identify product and technical opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. You will lead testing and iteration of these processes while closing commercial, national title transactions.

As a Commercial Underwriting Counsel, you will:

1. Drive the development of a new, end-to-end operational process for title transactions.
2. Work on a remote team using technology and virtual communication.
3. Manage all technical aspects of a commercial title transaction—from underwriting to post-close—with operational support.
4. Use data to inform decision-making and process improvements.

Your qualifications:

1. General understanding of underwriting regional or national commercial real estate transactions for title insurance policies.
2. 5-10 years of title underwriting experience.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Successful history of managing and serving customers.
5. Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admitted to the bar in at least one US state.

This is a fully remote role

Pay Range: $95,350.00 - $127,125.00

This range is an estimate at posting time and pay depends on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
