Jonus Group is seeking a dedicated Property Damage / Cargo Claims Adjuster to join our growing team in Mentor, Ohio. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve commercial cargo and transportation claims in line with policy, regulations, and laws.

Responsibilities

• Investigate all aspects of loss, including coverage, liability, and damages.
• Evaluate and negotiate trucking claims, focusing on cargo/freight and first-party physical damage.
• Handle complex, high-exposure claims and direct on-site investigations when needed.
• Prepare detailed reports and claim summaries for client reviews.
• Identify subrogation or fraud potential and develop handling strategies.
• Maintain active state adjuster licensure in relevant jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with insureds, brokers, carriers, surveyors, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Work independently while contributing to the broader claims team.

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Damage / Cargo Claims Adjuster to join a growing team. This role involves investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving commercial cargo and transportation claims in alignment with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial claims, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to claims management.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $67,000–$87,000 annually
• Employment Type: Direct Hire and Temp-to-Hire opportunities available

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Licensure: Active designated home-state adjuster license; ability to obtain reciprocal licenses as needed.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of commercial claims experience.
  • Strong backgrounds in Commercial Auto, Commercial Trucking, Cargo, First-party Physical Damage, or Commercial Transportation Claims.
  • Direct trucking experience is preferred but not required.
• Skills:
  • Strong claims judgment and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of approximately 80–120 claims.
  • Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: Willingness to work Mountain or Pacific Time business hours.

Note: Candidates with personal auto claims experience or primarily Uber/Lyft claims backgrounds are not a fit for this role.
