Job summary

Gills Point S in Maine is seeking a Commercial Tire Technician I to service passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and trailers, both in the shop and on roadside calls, helping customers stay safe and on the road.

You'll mount, inspect, repair, balance, and rotate tires, operate a service truck, and participate in safety trainings while delivering friendly, professional service daily.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills and experience using service or POS systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls.
• Dependable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to operate indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, repair, and replace tires on passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and trailers.
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Repair punctures and perform approved tire repairs.
• Rotate tires to maximize tread life and improve vehicle performance.
• Balance tires using conventional balancing equipment and commercial balancing methods.
• Respond to roadside service calls at customer locations, including highways and fleets.
• Safely operate a company-issued commercial service truck.
• Maintain communication with dispatch or the service coordinator throughout each service call.
• Complete accurate documentation for all work performed.
