Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years industry experience.
• Ability to analyze bond applications and make objective/subjective decisions.
• Ability to interpret varied procedures and policies.
• Ability to calculate figures such as premiums and commissions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and managers.
• Ability to handle large volumes of bonds and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze and underwrite commercial surety bonds.
• Evaluate and manage risk consistent with underwriting philosophy.
• Understand legal documents, indemnity agreements, statutes, bond forms and insurance laws.
• Demonstrate judgment in evaluating financial condition and credit history of applicants.
• Develop new business through agency relationships.
• Price, quote, negotiate terms and service accounts.
• Renewal bond underwriting and account management.
• Mentor teammates and support the group as needed.
• Occasional travel to agent meetings or industry events.
