Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a strategic Head of Commercial Surety to lead underwriting, risk management, and portfolio development for our commercial surety line.

You will serve as lead underwriter, drive profitability, manage relationships with agents/brokers, collaborate with regional offices, and guide portfolio optimization, while delivering innovative client experiences with autonomy and discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills with brokers and clients.
• Proven ability to balance strategic and tactical objectives in underwriting.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand the commercial surety portfolio with P/L responsibility.
• Establish and maintain key surety broker relationships in line with guidelines.
• Develop risk and portfolio management tools to meet objectives and manage risk.
• Underwrite and manage referrals exceeding field authority, including renewals and bond requests.
• Evaluate bond forms and contracts to assess risk.
• Coordinate with home office and co-surety partners; collaborate with regional offices.
• Support senior management in refining underwriting procedures and policies.
