August Building Company is a company that specializes as Building Subcontractor for Infrastructure, Water and Wastewater buildings. We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of our Water and Wastewater construction projects.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Superintendent with extensive experience in commercial / industrial construction. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with General Contractor, project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient construction process. Experience with underground industrial construction would be a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations as a Building Subcontractor on Water and Wastewater construction projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
• Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on budget, and in accordance with design specifications.
• Manage and direct subcontractors, laborers, and other on-site personnel, ensuring that work is performed according to schedule and quality standards.
• Ensure that all construction work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Review project plans, submittals and schedules to ensure that work progresses according to plan and address any delays or issues that arise.
• Coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment, ensuring that the site is well-stocked and that there is no delay in the construction process.
• Monitor and enforce safety practices on the job site, conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Maintain clear and constant communication with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and updates.
• Conduct regular inspections of the site to ensure high-quality workmanship and that all work is completed to specification.
• Resolve on-site issues or conflicts quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing delays and maintaining project schedules.
• May need to work on pre-construction tasks such as Submittals, Subcontracts, Estimating and Scheduling.
• Will be responsible for Change Orders on project. Provide pricing, execution of work and send out change orders to Subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in Commercial / Industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and local building codes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Proven experience in overseeing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft, Microsoft projects software.
• OSHA certification.
• High school diploma is required; a construction management degree or related certification is a plus.
