Job summary

Citadel Roofing and Solar in Sacramento is seeking a successful Estimator to drive and manage multifamily housing and commercial solar projects across California. Projects range from 20kW to 1MW.

You will complete high quality solar and storage estimates, generate budgets and proposals, and stay organized with a large pipeline. You will read construction drawings, determine system type and interconnection, prepare quotations, and maintain bid schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; college experience preferable.
• 3 years of solar or electrical experience.
• Experience with Helioscope and Energy Toolbase.
• Experience in estimating construction or architectural products.
• Experience reading construction drawings and specifications; aptitude acceptable in lieu of experience.
• Experience with retrofit PV projects.
• Experience with solar design and building codes.
• Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed and itemized solar material quantity estimates from owner or contractor furnished plans.
• Determine correct solar system type, interconnection type, and system sizing.
• Prepare quotations and proposals from architectural drawings.
• Perform clerical duties for filing and job folders.
• Read blueprints, drawings, plans and specs and prepare estimates.
• Generate preliminary and final project budgets based on bid details.
• Ensure thoroughness of estimates and ease of construction by field operations.
• Keep and track bid schedules.

Retro Commercial Solar Estimator

Location: Sacramento

Reports to: Retro Commercial/Multifamily Solar Estimator

Travel: Minimal

Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a successful Estimator to drive and manage our multifamily housing /commercial solar projects throughout California. Project sizes will range in size from 20kW – 1MW. Working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, the Estimator will be responsible for completing high quality solar and storage estimates, generating budgets/proposals, and staying highly organized and efficient with a large pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for completing detailed and itemized solar material quantity estimates from owner or contractor furnished plan sets.
• Determine correct solar system type, interconnection type, and system sizing.
• Prepare quotations and proposals from architectural drawings
• Perform clerical duties associated with keeping up filing and job folders.
• Read construction blueprints, drawings, plans and specifications and prepare estimates.
• Generate preliminary and final project budgets based on bid proposal and project details.
• Ensure thoroughness of estimates and help with ease of construction by field operations.
• Keep and track bid schedules.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma. College degree or some college experience is preferable.
• 3 years of solar or electrical experience.
• Experience with Helioscope and Energy Toolbase.
• Experience in estimating construction or architectural products.
• Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications. Demonstrated aptitude will be considered in lieu of experience.
• Experience with retrofit PV projects.
• Experience with the solar design and latest building codes.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
