Job summary

Solon-Corporation is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to support service, O&M, and construction activities for commercial solar PV systems. You will perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on site, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have strong commercial electrical backgrounds, solar system familiarity, and the ability to work independently in field conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical construction experience (solar preferred).
• At least 1 year dealing with solar PV or battery energy storage systems.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical plans, single-line diagrams, and equipment docs.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and OSHA electrical safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and clean background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect operating commercial PV systems and document findings.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, replace, and upgrade PV components and equipment.
• Test and diagnose with meters, megohmmeters, clamps, and other devices.
• Inspect systems for defects, hazards, code or installation issues.
• Install, assemble, modify, maintain, and test wiring, raceways, and components.
• Route and test conductors to switchgear, inverters, breakers, and related gear.
• Install grounding/bonding conductors and related equipment.
• Read electrical drawings and specifications; ensure conformance with codes and standards.
• Plan electrical installations from drawings and field conditions.
• Assist with startup and commissioning of new PV projects.
• Identify issues and communicate corrective actions to teams and customers.
• Complete service reports, photos, test records, and project docs promptly.
• Maintain tools and testing equipment in safe condition.
• Follow safety policies and procedures; travel up to 50% as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Salary range: $25.00-$32.00 per hour.
