Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Service Technician to independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems. Travel to job sites as required and read blueprints to ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Candidates should have 3+ years of fire and life safety industry experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work without direct supervision while delivering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license, if driving role.
• Knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Ability to read technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
