Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our growing team, serving the Greater New York Tri-State area, including Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and beyond. Another key service territory includes the Pompton Plains, NJ area. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician with strong technical abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to quality service and teamwork.
Our technicians are provided company vehicles (cars/vans), which they can take home daily, offering flexibility in their base location—whether from Long Island, NYC, or surrounding areas in the Tri-State region and Pompton Plains, NJ.
About the Role
The HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, system operations, and equipment sequencing. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and able to maintain clear and accurate records while communicating effectively with clients and internal teams.
A clean driving record is required, as a company vehicle will be used to service client sites across the territory.
Key Responsibilities
Install replacement equipment and parts according to manufacturer specifications to ensure warranty compliance
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair HVACR malfunctions per EPA guidelines
Complete and maintain documentation, including:
Timesheets
Expense reports
Service reports
Purchase card logs
Conduct system tests and analyze data to ensure proper performance and recommend improvements
Follow all safety procedures and participate in training and team meetings
Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior staff as needed
Maintain tools and company vehicles in good working condition
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship Program
Experience:
5–10 years of experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems
Familiarity with service routes in the Tri-State region and Pompton Plains, NJ
Strong working knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and specifications
Skills:
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor with clients and team members
Basic math proficiency and attention to measurement accuracy
Ability to manage responsibilities independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Licenses/Certifications:
EPA Universal Refrigeration License (required)
Other certifications may be required per contract or SLA
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
