Job summary

Butte Fence in Meridian, Idaho is seeking a Commercial Sales Representative to build relationships with commercial clients and drive profitable fence sales. You will review plans, prepare estimates, and hand off sold projects to Operations, ensuring smooth project execution.

The role requires familiarity with construction documents, estimating, and strong communication. Local travel and a valid driver's license are expected as part of sales activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Commercial construction, estimating, or sales experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong math, estimating, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple bids, customers, and deadlines.
• Fence or related construction industry experience preferred.
• Comfortable using computers, mobile technology, and estimating/project management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, and other commercial customers.
• Review plans, specifications, bid invitations, and jobsite conditions to prepare accurate and timely estimates.
• Prepare clear and profitable proposals that identify scope, pricing, exclusions, assumptions, and project requirements.
• Achieve established sales and gross margin goals.
• Follow up consistently on bids and opportunities and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
• Negotiate pricing and scope while protecting company profitability and customer relationships.
• Maintain strong knowledge of fencing products, installation methods, and commercial project requirements.
• Clearly communicate customer commitments, scope, and project details to Operations during project handoff.
• Maintain accurate customer, bid, and follow-up information in company systems.
• Represent Butte Fence professionally and provide responsive customer service throughout the sales process.

• Regular local travel to customer offices and jobsites in varying weather and construction conditions.
