Job summary

The Guild Roofing & Gutters is seeking an Estimator in Austin, TX to support residential and commercial roofing projects. You will evaluate job requirements, build accurate estimates, and coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include site visits, quantity takeoffs, and assisting with pricing for various projects while staying updated on roofing materials and local requirements. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating, roofing, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read plans and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Xactimate) and Excel is a plus.

About The Role

We are hiring an Estimator to support residential and commercial roofing projects. This position focuses on evaluating job requirements, building accurate project estimates, and coordinating with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.

Location: Austin, TX

Job Type: Full-Time

What You'll Do

• Visit job sites to assess roofing conditions and collect project details
• Build clear and accurate estimates for roofing and related exterior work
• Complete material takeoffs using plans, measurements, and digital tools
• Assist with pricing for new construction, replacements, and restoration projects
• Review project documentation, including insurance-related scopes (training available)
• Communicate with customers, team members, and external partners to confirm scope and pricing
• Track estimate activity and updates using company systems
• Work with operations and suppliers to align project costs and materials
• Help improve estimating templates, processes, and documentation standards
• Stay informed on roofing materials, installation methods, and local requirements

What We're Looking For

• Background in construction estimating, roofing, or a related field preferred
• Understanding of common roofing systems (shingle, metal, flat roofing such as TPO, etc.)
• Ability to read plans and perform quantity takeoffs
• Comfortable learning estimating and insurance software (e.g., Xactimate)
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with Excel or similar tools is a plus
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
