Job summary

NBC Universal Orlando is seeking an experienced technician to maintain, service, repair and operate all commercial kitchen, laundry and refrigeration systems across Universal Orlando venues. You will diagnose and fix coolers, freezers, ovens, dish machines and related equipment to manufacturers’ specifications.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial appliance repair, EPA refrigerant certification, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial appliance repair and refrigeration experience required; 7+ years preferred.
• EPA Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification required.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required to operate a company vehicle.
• High school diploma or GED required; AA/technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment including coolers, freezers, rack systems, ice machines, and keg coolers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and electric kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, steamers, dish machines, and microwaves.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair kitchen and bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, dough equipment.
• Provide mechanical guidance to Tech II/III technicians and apprentices to improve skills.
• Preventative maintenance and rehab of kitchen equipment to manufacturers' specifications.
• Provide documentation for ordering parts as needed.
• Adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety policies and responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are currently looking for exceptional candidates to fill positions in the below categories.

JOB SUMMARY:

To maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all commercial restaurant, laundry related equipment, and refrigeration systems. Including, but not limited to bakery, production kitchen, propane and natural gas, and electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and rehab all kitchen equipment back to manufacturer's specifications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all refrigeration equipment including, but not limited to coolers, freezers, rack systems, water, air cooled and self-contained ice machines, ice cream machines, and keg coolers. glycol systems,
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all commercial gas and electric kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, washers, dryers' fryers, steamers, and ovens such as pressure cookers, tilt skillets, commercial dish machines, combi-ovens, microwaves, stoves and conveyor type ovens, broilers, and espresso machines.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all kitchen and bakery equipment including, but not limited to mixers, combi ovens, mixers, salad dryers, meat grinders, kettles, proofers, dough rounders and rack ovens.
• Provide mechanical and technical guidance and expertise to Tech II and Tech III technicians and apprentices to continually improve the education, experience and skill set within the department.
• Preventative maintenance and rehab of all kitchen equipment to required manufacturers specifications.
• Provide proper documents for ordering parts as needed for equipment.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED is required
• Associate's degree (AA) or Technical school is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of commercial appliance repair and refrigeration experience required; 7+ years preferred
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification through the EPA is required
• Must possess a valid Florida Drivers License in order to operate a company vehicle

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

To maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair and operate all cooking related equipment and refrigeration resort wide for all Universal Orlando restaurants and food venues. Including, but not limited to industrial kitchen and bakery equipment, propane and natural gas, and electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and rehab all kitchen equipment back to manufacturer's specifications.
