Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort offers a Maintenance Technician role focused on preventive maintenance of commercial kitchen, laundry and refrigeration equipment in our facilities. You may remove or install equipment and perform routine cleaning and servicing.

We value 1+ year experience in HVAC or refrigeration and require a high school diploma or GED, with technical school preferred. A Florida driver’s license is often required and project documentation is part of the job.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in HVAC, refrigeration or commercial kitchen equipment.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Technical school is preferred for formal training.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment including ovens, steamers, ice machines, coolers and freezers.
• Preventative maintenance on commercial appliance units: washers, dryers, chargrill, fryers and flat tops.
• Preventive maintenance on self-contained refrigeration units with condenser and evaporator cleaning.
• Completes all assigned documentation and labor reporting.
• Assist and supports Equipment Technician on service calls.
• Performs light replacement of parts (hoses, regulators, pilot assemblies, belts).
• Adheres to Environmental, Health & Safety policies and participates in EHS activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing preventative maintenance of commercial, noncommercial restaurant, laundry, and refrigeration related equipment. Removing or installation of new equipment. Perform cleaning duties and routine preventative maintenance of equipment on a regular basis.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment to include, but not limited ovens, steamers, shake & ice cream machines, coolers, freezers.
• Preventative maintenance on commercial appliance units to include, but not limited to: washer, dryers chargrill, fryers, and flat tops.
• Preventative maintenance on self-contained, air- and water-cooled refrigeration units to include condenser and evaporator cleaning of ice machines.
• Completes all assigned documentation and labor reporting.
• Assist and Supports Equipment Technician, Tech I Industrial, Tech I and Tech II on service calls.
• Performs light replacement of parts to include but not limited to dormant hoses, regulators, pilot assembly, restraints, and belts
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED is required
• Technical school is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• 1+ experience in HVAC, Refrigeration, Commercial Kitchen equipment, Automotive maintenance or a fast-paced technical service company dedicated to refrigeration, restaurant equipment, commercial appliances, laundry equipment and or maintenance is required
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Valid Florida Drivers License/ required to operate company vehicles
• Universal refrigerant certification is preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Responsible for cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment
• Will support and assist with repairing and installing restaurant equipment
