GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for profitable business development and monitoring the quality of the largest existing portfolio of companies with annual gross sales of at least $50MM and generally less than $500MM within a specific geographic area. Develop trusted advisory relationships with senior executives (e.g., CEO, CFO, COO) of client companies. Lead and coordinate with One Bank Partners to create and implement relationship strategies for large, complex clients and prospects. Possess a strong understanding of credit, commercial products, and financial statement analysis to offer suitable banking solutions (e.g., loans, treasury management, capital markets) based on client needs. Some incumbents may specialize in specific industries such as Healthcare. Participate actively in community activities.

Maintain accountability for risk by openly sharing ideas, raising concerns, and adhering to policies and procedures. Always prioritize doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors foster a positive customer experience. Operate within the Bank's risk appetite, and identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

  • Independently identify and develop profitable new client relationships through leveraging centers of influence, existing clients, and referral sources.
  • Grow long-term profitable relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deepen existing relationships and acquire high-value new prospects.
  • Attend community and industry forums, conferences, and meetings to broaden networks and deepen knowledge of industry trends and practices.

Portfolio Management

  • Work with One Bank partners (Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, etc.) to analyze, evaluate, and develop tailored relationship strategies.
  • Conduct relationship strategy review meetings with internal partners and clients' trusted advisors (e.g., attorneys, accountants).
  • Manage customer relationships to maximize bank opportunities while considering risk and client needs.

Client Experience

  • Regularly meet with clients to enhance trusted advisor relationships and ensure their needs are met.
  • Lead client-facing activities, including credit support, treasury management, and capital markets.
  • Utilize the Bank's CRM system for tracking client activity, call reports, and pipeline management.
  • Apply consultative selling skills, principles, and call reporting plans to improve client experience.

Credit Excellence

  • Analyze financial information to determine questions for credit requests.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers on credit requests, adhering to guidelines.
  • Monitor ongoing financial performance and industry trends to manage credit risk appropriately.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No formal supervisory responsibilities but expected to guide Commercial RM I & II.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Commercial Banking experience.
  • At least 9 years of relationship account management experience preferred.
  • Formalized commercial credit training or equivalent experience required.
  • Underwriting experience preferred.
  • Proven partnership experience with investment bankers for strategic advice.
  • Strong business acumen, financial statement review skills, and knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Thorough knowledge of Commercial banking, Treasury Management, and financing options.
  • Ability to assess client needs and optimize financial solutions.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in various settings.
  • Ability to identify and understand business issues and create relevant solutions.
  • Experience in prospecting and client relationship exploration.
  • Influence client decision-making regarding strategies and products.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and environmental scanning skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, especially in negotiations.
  • Teamwork skills in a sales environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM tools preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally/local.

Position: Commercial Relationship Manager IV, with a total base pay range of $119,500 - $256,900 annually.
