Description

Service technician who performs scheduled and contract commercial/light industrial refrigeration system maintenance at client facilities. Assists with refrigeration system/equipment installations and equipment start-up / commissioning at client facilities. Works closely with RD&S service coordinators and sales staff to develop long-term client relationships. Prepares recommendations for client facility service / equipment replacement based on service visit. Commercial/light industrial customers include cold storage facilities, distribution centers, and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Executes routine maintenance, contractual planned maintenance contract work, and emergency service work independently or with apprentice assistance.
• Completes service reports for planned service and maintenance contracts as necessary for Service Supervisor and Coordinator follow-up action.
• Supports customers with troubleshooting of commercial/industrial refrigeration systems and equipment, including control systems, for facility issues. Works on split and parallel rack systems holding 80+ lbs. of refrigerant, chillers, packaged units, and control systems.
• Works with tablet-based service ticket software to complete daily Work Orders.
• Prepares and submits all time/Work Order reports daily with accurate notes and follow-up needs.
• Ensures Service Coordinator has proper information for client billing, including receipts for chargeable or reimbursable expenses.
• Communicates with Service Supervisors and Managers to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintains professionalism and cleanliness when interacting at client facilities.
• Maintains current licenses required for the role.
• Performs other duties as required and promotes a professional work environment based on company values.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• High School Diploma
• Technical/trade school certification in refrigeration; advanced education in IR 1-19/ CR 1-20 modules preferred.
• OEM training for equipment start-up and service.
• Experience with CO2 Refrigeration desired.
• Completion of safety and equipment training required.
• Excellent customer service skills and a drive to learn.
• Travel up to 90% locally with a company vehicle.
• Training/certification to operate lifts and forklifts.
• EPA certification required.
• OSHA 10-hour certification.
• OEM equipment start-up and maintenance training preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
