Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP in Los Angeles is seeking a Real Estate, Land Use & Environmental Paralegal to support attorneys on commercial real estate transactions, with a primary focus on title and survey review, due diligence, and closing coordination.

The role also supports land use and environmental matters and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• At least 7+ years of paralegal experience focusing on commercial real estate transactions.
• Experience reviewing title commitments and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Familiarity with title insurance products, endorsements, and closing processes.
• Understanding land use and environmental due diligence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed title review and analysis, including commitments, policies, pro formas, and endorsements.
• Identify and analyze title exceptions, easements, covenants, restrictions, liens, and encumbrances.
• Review title and survey documents; prepare memoranda and letters; monitor cure items through closing.
• Prepare and coordinate closing instructions, statements, and settlement documents.
• Support land use and environmental matters and coordinate with title companies and clients.
