Day Pitney LLP seeks a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support the real estate practice. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and proactive team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include 3–5 years of commercial real estate paralegal experience, a Bachelor's degree (ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred), and strong skills in WORD, Excel, iManage, Webex and Hot Docs. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred).
• 3–5 years commercial real estate paralegal experience.
• Proficient with WORD, Excel, iManage, Webex and Hot Docs.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review closing documents including mortgage deeds, notes, assignments, and closing checklists.
• Prepare and review title documents, commitments, and surveys for real estate closings.
• Calculate adjustments and closing costs; prepare settlement statements.
• Coordinate with clients, attorneys, banks, title companies, and surveyors for closings.
• Manage closing files from signed contract to post-closing paperwork.
• Order and review title commitments, title documents, surveys, estoppels, and tax/lien searches.
• Prepare title abstracts, review surveys and zoning reports.
• Prepare closing files and coordinate execution of documents; attend closing if required.
• Handle post-closing matters, organizing closing binders and filing.
