Job summary

Hempel Real Estate is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support the legal team with transactions, leasing, governance, and financing activities. You will work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to acquisitions and post-closing work in an in-house CRE environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; significant CRE experience may be considered in lieu.

  • Interest in CRE transactions and legal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize documents related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions.
  • Maintain transaction checklists and track deadlines across matters.
  • Coordinate document execution and obtain signatures from internal and external parties.
  • Draft and revise leasing documents using established templates.
  • Prepare lease abstracts and summarize key business terms.
  • Coordinate title and survey matters and due diligence materials.
  • Draft entity resolutions and maintain corporate records.
  • Manage legal entity filings, renewals, and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate closings and post-closing documentation and follow-up.
  • Prepare loan and financing documentation and track conditions to closing.
  • Maintain organized electronic transaction files and naming conventions.
  • Act as a liaison with outside counsel, lenders, title companies, and internal teams.
  • Assist with due diligence materials and closing deliverables.
  • Prepare signature packets and coordinate execution of documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

Hempel Real Estate is seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support the legal team in connection with commercial real estate transactions, leasing matters, entity governance, and financing activities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior legal leadership and gain exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and lease transactions within a dynamic in‑house commercial real estate environment.

The Paralegal will assist in coordinating and supporting real estate transactions from inception through closing and post‑closing. The role includes document preparation, transaction checklist management, transaction coordination, corporate compliance support, and assistance with commercial real estate transactions from inception through post‑closing.

This position plays an important role in maintaining organization and workflow across multiple active transactions while ensuring documentation and deadlines are managed effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional seeking to build or further develop a career in commercial real estate law while working on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions in an in‑house legal environment. This position reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer, while fully supporting and working closely with additional legal team members.

Key Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to)
  • Prepare and organize documents related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
  • Maintain transaction checklists and track key deadlines and milestones across active matters
  • Coordinate document execution and obtain signatures from internal and external parties (e.g., counterparties, lenders, title companies)
  • Draft and revise leasing documents – lease agreements, amendments, estoppels, and SNDAs – using established templates
  • Prepare lease abstracts and summarize key business terms
  • Coordinate title and survey matters, organize due diligence materials, and identify issues requiring attorney review
  • Draft entity resolutions and maintain corporate records and entity organizational documentation
  • Manage legal entity filings, annual renewals, registered agent updates, and compliance tracking across the entity portfolio
  • Coordinate transaction closings, maintain closing checklists, assemble electronic closing binders and assist with post‑closing documentation and follow‑up through completion
  • Prepare and organize loan and financing documentation, including tracking conditions to closing/funding
  • Maintain organized and up‑to‑date electronic transaction files, ensuring documents are accurately named, filed, and readily accessible
  • Serve as a point of coordination with outside counsel, lenders, title companies, and internal teams to support transaction execution
  • Assist with preparing, organizing, and maintaining transaction due diligence materials and closing deliverables
  • Prepare signature packets and coordinate execution of transaction documents
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred. Candidates with substantial relevant commercial real estate transactional experience may be considered in lieu of these qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a law firm, title company, commercial real estate company, or similar environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate transactions and legal operations
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
