Commercial Proposal Manager at ABB

Position Overview

This position reports to the Sales Manager.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement sales support strategies leveraging technical capabilities aligned with global support initiatives, focusing on configuration and quotation support.
  2. Oversee estimations, bids, and proposals, ensuring compliance with ABB standards and targets.
  3. Provide timely and quality inputs for bid, estimate, and quotation activities.
  4. Contribute to the Electrification Services division in North America, mainly working remotely (#LI-remote).
  5. Partner with Business Development, Sales Managers, and technical teams to develop cost and price estimates for services and equipment, supporting the creation of customer proposals.
  6. Collaborate with regional sales teams to understand customer needs, develop deal strategies, and analyze market and competitive landscape.
  7. Manage opportunity and proposal processes, including development, approvals, and pricing, utilizing Salesforce.com.
  8. Balance multiple priorities and manage deadlines effectively, setting clear expectations with customers, sales reps, and distributors.
  9. Understand contract terms and conditions, assessing their impact on risk and costs.
  10. Ensure compliance with all government contracting requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, or Field Service.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Preferred: Experience with industrial power delivery or power distribution systems, technical knowledge of commercial/industrial customers, government-funded projects with prevailing wages, and ability to work closely with internal and external customers.
  • Must have legal work authorization in the US.
