Job summary

Siemens Mobility seeks a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) - Finance Controller to drive financial control across Cypress, CA projects. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee bid preparation, review terms with Legal, and ensure compliance during project execution.
• Partner with Project Manager to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation actions.
• Prepare and present commercial topics in project meetings and manage customer requirements.
• Ensure timely invoicing, manage receivables, and maximize cash flow.
• Maintain contract and claim management to protect project margins.

The CommercialProject Manager (CPM) - Finance Controller (Region West). Location:Cypress, CA. Position isHybridand occasional travel isrequired.

The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) – Finance Controller willbe responsible forcommercial aspects related to projects—from the sales phasethroughexecution to project completion. Responsibilities encompassproposal management,projectperformance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. The CPMpartners withSales andthe Project Managerduring the project life cycle andinteractswith Customers, Suppliers, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, other Commercial Project Managers, regional and national Finance colleagues, internal and externalAuditorsand other internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manage the project throughout the Project Life Cycle

• Oversee the bid preparation and approval process (Limits of Authority),review, evaluate and negotiatecontractual terms withsupport ofLegaldepartment, evaluaterisksand ensureconformanceduring project execution
• Empower yourself as commercial project entrepreneur during the project execution phase from order intake,throughdesign, delivery,installationand commissioning to warranty phase
• Partner withtheProject Manager inidentifying, evaluating, and assessing risks and opportunities, and developing strategies and response activitiesto avoid margin slippage
• Prepare and present commercial topics ininternal and externalproject meetings and elevate critical issues when necessary
• Manage customer requirements andstakeholderexpectations with the Project Manager
• Secure project target by enforcing stringent contract and claim management
• Ensure compliance with standards, rules, and regulations, fostering a culture of trust and integrity (e.g.financial reporting guidelines acc. to IFRS and US GAAP, tax regulations, business conduct, signature rights, export control, EHS, ICFR/RICetc.)

Manage ProjectFinances& Planning

• Partner with the Project Manager to manage financial results, focusing onprojectgross profit, cash flowandminimizing non-conformance costs
• Performannualbudgeting,monthlyforecasting&cost control, cash flow reconciliation, and deviation analysis. Ensure accuracy of project books and records in SAP
• Ensuretimelyinvoicing,activelymanage receivables, and maximize cash flow
• Coordinate procurement efforts to ensure best bids within budget and compliance with customer contracts
• Managefinancialguarantees/ bonds andinsurancerequirements
• Encourage team accountability, foster teamcollaboration,and conduct lessons-learned reviews for continuous improvement

You will impress us with the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or 3+ years of Siemens related experience
• 4+ years of work experience in commercial project controlling/management in complex construction projects
• Required travel: 10-20%

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business administration.
• Proficiency with related SAP modules.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $141,494 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
