Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee commercial and infrastructure construction projects from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction project management, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, subcontractor management, contract administration, and regulatory compliance.
The Construction Project Manager will coordinate project teams, manage schedules and budgets, communicate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and infrastructure construction projects from inception through completion.
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed construction project schedules, coordinating all phases of project execution.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Utilize HeavyBid or similar estimating and cost-management software to support estimating, budgeting, and project cost control.
- Manage procurement activities, contracts, purchase orders, and subcontractor relationships.
- Review construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, budget, quality, and construction issues.
- Manage project documentation, including permits, inspections, change orders, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, construction regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to achieve project milestones.
- Use construction management and documentation software such as Procore and Bluebeam to manage project information, documentation, communication, and issue tracking.
- Prepare regular project status reports and communicate project performance, risks, and updates to management and clients.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting critical deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in construction project management , preferably in commercial, infrastructure, civil, or other complex construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion .
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, project coordination, budgeting, cost control, and project documentation.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, project teams, and field personnel .
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project plans .
- Working knowledge of construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, procurement, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of applicable construction regulations, building codes, safety requirements, permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance .
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules and tracking project milestones.
- Strong understanding of construction cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with construction management or project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms .
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability and willingness to conduct regular job-site visits and coordinate with field teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related field .
- Experience managing large-scale commercial or infrastructure construction projects .
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar construction estimating software .
- Advanced experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or other construction management platforms .
- Experience with project forecasting, earned value management, cost-to-complete analysis, and detailed project financial reporting.
- Experience negotiating and administering complex construction contracts.
- Experience managing change orders, claims, schedule impacts, and project risk.
- OSHA, safety, or other relevant construction-industry certifications.
- Experience working directly with government agencies, municipalities, engineers, architects, inspectors, or other regulatory authorities.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and field operations.
- Experience with design-build, public works, civil infrastructure, or other complex project delivery methods.
