StraussGroup is assisting a long-established general contractor and construction manager in Western New York with a Project Manager opportunity. The role leads commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with carpenters, the millwork shop, subcontractors, and owners.

The ideal candidate has field-first construction experience on multistory or historic projects, strong drawing-reading skills, and familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and Procore.

Responsabilidades

• Review drawings and specs for constructability; manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Own budgets, cost control, forecasting, and schedules with margin accountability.
• Coordinate with superintendents, in-house carpenters, the millwork shop, subcontractors, architects, and owners.
• Close out existing projects with punch lists, documentation, and final financials.
• Support preconstruction and estimating on negotiated work.
• Manage project documentation in Procore.
• Visit active jobsites across Western New York.

Our client is a long-established, highly respected general contractor and construction manager in Western New York, known for meticulous craftsmanship on high-end commercial and residential projects. They control more of their work than most builders. They run their own millwork shop, keep skilled carpenters on staff, and get much of their work through their own development projects and negotiated private-sector jobs, not public hard bids.

Commercial work is growing, with an exciting pipeline that includes multistory historic adaptive reuse and ground-up construction. They’re adding a hands‑on Project Manager to help lead that growth.

What You’ll Do

• Lead commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review drawings and specs for constructability, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Own budgets, cost control, forecasting, and schedules, with accountability for project margin.
• Coordinate with superintendents, in-house carpenters and the millwork shop, subcontractors, architects, and owners.
• Close out existing projects, including punch lists, documentation, and final financials.
• Support preconstruction and estimating on negotiated work.
• Manage project documentation in Procore.
• Visit active jobsites across Western New York.

What You Bring

• A field-first construction background and experience managing commercial projects. Multistory experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong drawing‑reading skills and command of the RFI and submittal process.
• Historic renovation or adaptive reuse experience, highly preferred. Wood‑frame experience is a plus.
• Estimating experience, a plus.
• Comfort with technology: Procore preferred, and at ease on an iPad, laptop, and Apple products.
• Quick to learn, takes ownership, and works well with autonomy.
• A valid driver’s license.
