Job summary

Trustmark Bank is seeking an entry-level Commercial Banking Associate in Birmingham to learn fundamentals of commercial lending while building a personal client portfolio. The role supports loan analysis, negotiations, and relationship development under experienced supervision.

The position offers growth toward a Commercial Portfolio Manager, with opportunities to expand into business development, credit analysis, and cross-selling across product lines in a community-focused bank environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years banking experience or equivalent in one or a combination of the following areas: Development Program, Relationship Manager, Credit Analysis, Commercial Banking.
• Four-year college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Commercial Banking associates on a day-to-day basis to learn fundamentals of Commercial Banking, portfolio management, credit analysis, loan presentation, and loan negotiation.
• Begin process of developing business development (sales) skills through structured calling program to gain outside loan production experience.
• Engage in community organizations to source business development opportunities and demonstrate commitment to the location community.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Level I/II qualifications include managing loan/deposit growth, understanding credit products and financial statements, and maintaining client relationships.
• Provide risk-aware portfolio management, cross-sell opportunities, and adherence to bank policies and risk appetite.
