Job summary

National Coatings in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced commercial painter to join our team. You will prep surfaces, apply coatings on new construction and existing buildings, and ensure color matching and finish quality across projects.

This role rewards safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship. Candidates should have 4+ years of commercial painting experience, excellent attention to detail, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial painter
• Exterior and interior commercial painting experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by priming, sanding, sealing, and patching, utilizing a variety of painting materials including varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat-resistant finishes
• Color Matching: Cross-check colors and confirm supplied products to match job files
• Application Skills: Apply materials to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision and expertise
• Professional Representation: Exhibit a professional demeanor and effectively represent the company while working at client job sites
• Blueprint Interpretation: Understand and interpret blueprints and scope specifications to ensure accurate execution of painting tasks
• Documentation: Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Change Orders: Understand the importance of and proficiently complete field change orders and submittals
• Equipment Proficiency: Trained and capable with multi-level scaffolding, extension ladders, and spray systems
• Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned trucks, ensuring they are in optimal condition; always keep a clean and safe work area
• Extensive Knowledge: Possess and apply in-depth knowledge of various painting materials and application methods
