Job summary

National Coatings in Boise, ID is seeking a skilled commercial painter to join our team. You will prepare surfaces, prime, sand, seal, and apply finishes on commercial projects, and maintain safety and quality at client sites.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of exterior and interior commercial painting experience, excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. We offer medical/dental coverage, 401(k), and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation: priming, sanding, sealing, patching and applying a variety of coatings
• Color matching and product confirmation per job files
• Apply coatings to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision
• Maintain tools, equipment, and trucks; keep work areas clean and safe
• Exhibit professionalism and represent National Coatings at client sites
• Read and interpret blueprints and scope specifications
• Complete required reports and change orders accurately

Responsibilities And Duties

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by priming, sanding, sealing, and patching, utilizing a variety of painting materials including varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat‑resistant finishes.
• Color Matching: Cross-check colors and confirm supplied products to match job files.
• Application Skills: Apply materials to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision and expertise.
• Professional Representation: Exhibit a professional demeanor and effectively represent the company while working at client job sites.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Understand and interpret blueprints and scope specifications to ensure accurate execution of painting tasks.
• Documentation: Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Change Orders: Understand the importance of and proficiently complete field change orders and submittals.
• Equipment Proficiency: Trained and capable with multi‑level scaffolding, extension ladders, and spray systems.
• Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned trucks, ensuring they are in optimal condition; always keep a clean and safe work area.
• Extensive Knowledge: Possess and apply in-depth knowledge of various painting materials and application methods.
