Job summary

National Coatings is seeking an experienced commercial painter to perform exterior and interior painting on commercial, industrial, and specialty projects. You will prepare surfaces, match colors, and apply coatings with precision, while upholding safety and site standards.

The role requires 4+ years of painting experience, strong detail orientation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in client environments. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of experience as a commercial painter, in exterior and interior painting.
• Strong attention to detail and high craftsmanship quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation: priming, sanding, sealing, patching and using painting materials including varnish, lacquer, enamel, epoxy, and other finishes.
• Color matching and verification against job files.
• Apply materials to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision.
• Represent the company professionally at client job sites.
• Interpret blueprints and scope specifications to ensure accurate execution.
• Complete reports timely and accurately; manage field change orders.
• Operate and maintain tools, scaffolding, ladders, and spray systems.
• Keep work area clean and safe; maintain trucks and equipment.
• Apply extensive knowledge of painting materials and methods.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by priming, sanding, sealing, and patching, utilizing a variety of painting materials including varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat-resistant finishes.
• Color Matching: Cross-check colors and confirm supplied products to match job files.
• Application Skills: Apply materials to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision and expertise.
• Professional Representation: Exhibit a professional demeanor and effectively represent the company while working at client job sites.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Understand and interpret blueprints and scope specifications to ensure accurate execution of painting tasks.
• Documentation: Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Change Orders: Understand the importance of and proficiently complete field change orders and submittals.
• Equipment Proficiency: Trained and capable with multi-level scaffolding, extension ladders, and spray systems.
• Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned trucks, ensuring they are in optimal condition; always keep a clean and safe work area.
• Extensive Knowledge: Possess and apply in-depth knowledge of various painting materials and application methods.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial painter – experience in both exterior and interior commercial painting, wallcoverings, and coatings highly preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
