Job summary

Carolina Masonry & Concrete LLC seeks a site superintendent to lead commercial masonry projects in the Charlotte area. The role requires coordinating foremen, in-house crews, and subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Occasional concrete oversight is welcome.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field leadership, strong masonry knowledge, and the ability to read drawings and specs. A valid driver's license and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of construction field leadership experience, preferably supervising commercial masonry work.
• Strong knowledge of commercial masonry methods and materials; some concrete exposure.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings, specs, and shop drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and US work authorization; proficient with basic project tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for commercial masonry projects and occasional concrete work from mobilization to completion.
• Plan manpower, sequencing, and short-term schedules; delegate to foremen, crews, and subs.
• Review plans, RFIs, addenda, and shop drawings to ensure field alignment with contracts.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, deliveries, inspections with project team and vendors.
• Maintain safety, quality control, progress reports, and meet project milestones.

Position OverviewCarolina Masonry & Concrete LLC is seeking an experienced site superintendent to lead commercial masonry projects in Charlotte and the surrounding area. Our work is approximately 80% masonry and 20% concrete. The superintendent's primary focus will be commercial masonry, but the right candidate must also have enough concrete experience to plan, delegate, and oversee small or large concrete projects when needed.This is a field leadership position for someone who can organize the work, give clear direction to foremen, in-house crews, and subcontractors, and follow through on safety, quality, production, and schedule commitments. The superintendent will work closely with project management, general contractors, vendors, and other trades to keep each project moving.Responsibilities• Lead day-to-day field operations for commercial masonry projects and occasional commercial concrete projects from mobilization through completion.• Plan manpower, work sequencing, and short-term schedules; delegate work to foremen, crews, and subcontractors and follow up on performance.• Review plans, specifications, addenda, shop drawings, and RFIs and make sure the field work follows the contract documents.• Coordinate materials, equipment, deliveries, access, and inspections with the project team and vendors.• Monitor production, labor, unit-cost work, and schedule performance and communicate concerns before they affect the project.• Conduct and document safety, quality-control, and progress inspections and correct field issues promptly.• Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, installed quantities, weather records, and delay documentation.• Attend project meetings, communicate upcoming needs or schedule impacts, and coordinate with other trades to avoid delays or rework.Qualifications• At least five years of construction field leadership experience, preferably supervising commercial masonry work.• Strong working knowledge of commercial masonry methods and materials, along with enough concrete experience to oversee assigned concrete scopes.• Proven ability to lead, delegate, and hold multiple crews and subcontractors accountable.• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and authorization to work in the United States.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and the ability to learn tablet-based and project-management software.• A college degree is not required. College, trade-school, or construction-management education is a plus.Work Location and TravelMost projects are located in the Charlotte area. Out-of-town assignments may be available to employees who are interested.
