Job summary

Farbman Group is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role performs routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting at an assigned commercial property to keep the building safe, functional, and well maintained for tenants and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of building maintenance experience in commercial properties, and a solid working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or an associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Three years of building maintenance experience in commercial properties or similar setting is preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of safety standards and building codes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building issues.
• Respond promptly to service requests and maintenance emergencies.
• Monitor building systems and equipment for proper operation.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, equipment status, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and applicable building codes.
• Maintain company tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Communicate regularly with the property manager and supervisor regarding property needs and completed work.
