Position Summary

As a key member of our Business Services team at MECU, you will support relationship managers and the department by facilitating underwriting and monitoring of credits, including line renewals, maturing loan assessments, and term loan reviews. Your responsibilities include managing existing loans, ensuring timely actions on maturing or past due loans, and assisting during loan closings. You will also contribute to special projects under the guidance of the department manager, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare Loan Summary/Credit Memo, liaising with stakeholders for new loan requests and renewals.
  • Manage maturing loans, prepare extension requests, and conduct credit analyses.
  • Coordinate annual term loan reviews with relevant team members.
  • Maintain updated loan files with financial information and memos.
  • Respond to internal audits and loan reviews, ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in managing Criticized Asset Reports and support risk management.
  • Ensure proper risk rating and complete documentation for risk adjustments.
  • Coordinate covenant compliance and secure necessary approvals.
  • Review third-party reports such as appraisals and environmental assessments.
  • Support Loan Administrator with past due loans and collection activities.
  • Participate in sales calls and promote business development.
  • Contribute to staff training and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in completing annual site visits for Business Loans.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred; advanced degree advantageous.
  • Five or more years of credit analysis and/or commercial lending experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Customer service skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation

Salary Range: $34.42 – $51.63 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, using hands, talking, hearing, occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting files/equipment up to 15 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
