Job summary

Plains State Bank is seeking a Loan Account Specialist to manage loan accounting for the bank’s loan portfolio. You will book loans, reconcile to the general ledger, and perform transaction research while maintaining daily file accuracy and processing corrections as needed.

Responsibilities include funding validation, investor reporting, and ensuring compliance with loan policies. Collaboration across Loan Operations and related departments is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business/Finance preferred with limited loan operations experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of loan operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation.
• Some working knowledge of other departments related to loan operations.
• Strong interpersonal communication.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up customers and book loans, borrowers, guarantors, facilities, and fees to the core account system.
• Perform loan account transaction research and resolve discrepancies.
• Review daily file maintenance reports and make corrections as needed.
• Reconcile loan-related general ledger accounts.
• Process funding requests in accordance with loan agreements and ensure funding is within guidelines.
• Process investor reporting, remittances and month-end reconciliations on participated loans.
• Post payments manually when applicable.
• Validate loan and portfolio codes for accurate system entry.
• Scan and index loan documents to the image system.
• Escalate critical issues to management and relevant personnel.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with loan policy and risk controls.
