About The Role

The Commercial Loan Officer position specializes in providing loans and other banking products to clients across multiple areas, such as business banking, agriculture, and commercial real estate. This role directly drives revenue growth by building strong relationships with bank customers, building and maintaining the bank’s loan portfolio, and providing financial services to clients.

This position is located in Truth or Consequences, NM. It is not a remote position.

What You Will Do

• Develop loan and deposit relationships with current and prospective bank customers.
• Evaluate client/applicant’s credit and financial status to determine appropriate lending decisions based on company risk‑tolerance levels.
• Structure loans within loan policy guidelines for presentation and approval by loan committee.
• Determine value or status of collateral as necessary during the loan application process.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of bank products and identify opportunities to recommend products and services to customers.
• Execute sales strategies to grow commercial lending revenue and bank deposits.
• Manage existing loan portfolio and review financials including tax returns to ensure loan complies with covenants and policy.
• Build relationships with key members of the community, building a network to grow commercial lending revenue and deposit growth.
• Represent the bank at local community and professional organization events.
• Maintain a strong understanding of internal bank policies and banking regulations.
• Other Duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
• 2+ years of commercial or agricultural related lending preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
